Throughout our off-season, we tend to work on the projects that are otherwise pushed aside to make way for more important things. During the build and competition season, our main focus is the design and construction of the robot, the code, and rushing to make sure everything is competition ready in time. After the chaos of competitions has wound down, we can take a step back and focus on everything that was neglected during the season. This usually includes organizing our space, working on or refining the code for the next season, taking apart our field elements, reaching out to potential sponsors for our next season, and planning out fundraisers and other outreach events.
This year, one of our team captains and lead programmer, Frederick, has already started working on the code for next year. One of the up-and-coming freshmen is already working on t-shirt design for the new season. Our FTC team is working on the organization of their robot design. Our mentor is working with our team members to plan our outreach and fundraising events.
While many members of our team aren't nearly as active during the off-season, the ones who come are still working their hardest to make the next season easier. We welcome the year of incoming FTC and FRC participants, teach them how to do what we do, and we prepare for any and every event we attend, whether it be a robot demonstration at the county fair, a car show with other teams, or a can drive to help raise funds for our next season. We're always planning, always prepared, always making sure we're ready for whatever comes next.
